Progressive Squares
How it all Started... In August of 1995, the California Square Dance Council sponsored the first California Progressive Squares Day. This low - cost event was envisioned as an exciting way to promote SQUARE DANCING. The increased media attention only served to heighten the Public's awareness of Square Dancing How it works... The California Progressive Squares functions in a manner similar to a progressive dinner. Starting at location A, a group of dancers will dance for a period of time and then move on to location B where they will meet up with another group. The two groups will dance and move on to location C and link up with the other groups. This process will continue until all the groups have arrived at a central location. Share in the fun... There is no question this undertaking will require a great deal of planning and organizing by the associations. But do not lose sight of the fact that this is FUN. By keeping the fun in California Progressive Squares, you will ensure its success for years to come. Learn More About It...
