I've had several questions regarding the room block cut-off date -- that date is SUNDAY, AUGUST 5th, 2007.  However, don't delay in making your reservations.  If we do have a good turnout and need to block additional rooms we need to know and do that as soon as possible so that we can all get the reduced room rate.  If we run out of rooms in our block and have not increased the block folks will have to pay a higher room rate.

On another note, I don't want anyone to be surprised when you arrive at the hotel -- Our room rate is $114, and the room taxes are 10%.  In addition, there is a mandatory $2.00 per room per day HBID fee for the city ofSan Jose that will be added to your room rate.  We can do nothing about this, and I don't know what that fee is for, but apparently it applies at every hotel inSan Jose.  Just want you to be forewarned!

As to the lunch -- we appreciate all of you who are willing to sign up for lunch.  Please let Joe & Marion Pava know ASAP if you are willing to participate in the catered lunch so that he has a count.  We have to give them a "guarantee" 3 days prior to the meeting, and if you say you are going to participate in the luncheon PLEASE DO NOT CANCEL -- we will have to pay for ALL the lunches we guarantee.  I'm sure we will be able to increase the count, but we will not be able to decrease the count.

Joe was able to get the parking fee "waived" for overnight guests at least ... not sure about the ones who just come in for the day.
