Upcoming Meeting
We have made the difficult decision to change the May California Square Dance Council meeting from an in-person meeting in Victorville to an electronic meeting via tele-conference. We believe this is in the best interests of dancers, and consistent with current CDC guidelines to limit travel and gatherings for at least eight weeks.
The May meeting is the Annual Meeting and there are some necessary decisions that need to be made relative to the Council By-laws, payment of bills, contract approvals, and other business. We will be preparing a shortened agenda that focuses on submission and distribution of written reports in advance, and discussion only of those critical items that require votes and/or dialogue. We intend to use a platform such as Zoom where everyone can participate in the meeting via computer or telephone. Zoom does not require any specific software, works on pretty much any computer and browser, and supports telephone call-in for those without computer access. If you have made hotel reservations in Victorville, please cancel your reservations directly with the hotel. Please cancel any other travel arrangements you may have made as well. We will send further direction within the next couple of weeks regarding submission of reports and preparation of the agenda with specific discussion topics. This will include arrangements for any Friday evening "meetings" (tele-conference calls) that need to still take place as well as the Saturday general meeting. Thank you all for your understanding during this challenging time. We look forward to catching up on "yellow rocks" as soon as we are able to resume our favorite activity in person. Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions. Our phone numbers are 619-222-0445 (home), 619-804-5266 (LPaul Cell), and 619-804-4197 (Sally Cell).
